Sunday, June 21, 2009, the Jarvis Memorial church family gathered to wish farewell our beloved Pastor, Albert Shuler, and Associate Pastor Diane Christianson, as they move to their new appointments in Fayetteville and Sampson County, NC, respectively.
The service was marked by robust congregational singing, beautiful music by the choir and organist, Steven Cagle, and a powerful sermon on trust by Pastor Shuler. A particularly moving moment in the service was the singing of one of Pastor Shuler's favorite songs, "You'll Never Walk Alone" from Carousel by ECU music intern, Jessica Laliberte (shown below after the solo with Pastor Shuler).
The service was followed by a reception in the Taft Christian Life Center at which both Albert and Diane were presented with love offerings from the congregation.
