The Rev. Dr. Homer E. Morris was appointed Senior Pastor for Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church beginning June 28, 2009. He is a graduate (B.A.) of Central Bible College, and holds both Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Asbury Theological Seminary. He was appointed Deacon in 1977 and a Full Member/Elder of the United Methodist denomination in 1979. Since then he has served churches all over eastern North Carolina, most recently serving St. Paul United Methodist Church in Goldsboro. His book, Utilizing Word Pictures in Narrative Sermons was published in 1992, and he is also author of "Filling Father's Shoes", a 1999 Book-On-Tape. Dr. Morris and his wife, Debra, have three children: Christy, John, and Aaron.
