Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church operates one of the most well-respected pre-school programs in the Greenville area.  The Jarvis Pre-School was established in 1969 and offers a developmentally appropriate, Christian curriculum created by professional educators.  All of our lead teachers have a minimum of a four-year education degree.  Continuing education is provided on a regular basis to our entire staff.

Christian emphasis pervades every aspect of our program through weekly Chapel, the reading of Bible stories, our music program, and other activities.  We bridge the gap between home and school, providing a warm, loving environment in which social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth are enhanced.  Pupil to teacher ratio is intentionally kept low. 

In addition to the Pre-School, Jarvis also offers a "Mother's Day Out" program.  This is an early education opportunity that focuses on peer-socialization, overcoming separation anxiety, and pre-school preparation.  Our teachers provide a loving, nurturing environment.  Play dictates the atmosphere with teacher involvement to model appropriate behavior and redirect inappropriate behavior.

Jarvis Pre-School and "Mother's Day Out"  are offered weekday mornings, running in general from 9 a.m. to Noon.  A Jarvis Lunch Club program provides a supervised lunch hour for children from noon to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, for those families needing a later pick-up time.  Children bring their own lunch and have time to socialize with their friends.

"Parent's Night Out" is a babysitting service offered Friday evenings, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., for children 6 weeks of age to 12 years. We serve a tasty pizza supper and a fun, entertaining environment when Mom and Dad want an evening to themselves.
