Welcome to the Small Groups Webpage! Here at Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, we believe that membership in a small group is essential if one hopes to tap the full benefits of church membership. Small groups are your opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the Bible; your opportunity to learn what it means to be a disciple; your opportunity to form genuine, caring relationships with others in God’s family.
Jesus called together a small group of twelve very ordinary people, and the world was forever changed. John Wesley was quoted as saying that small groups had a greater effect on living out the Christian life than all of his preaching.
Today, here at Jarvis and around the world, small groups continue to be an essential ingredient to living out the abundant life our Lord promised, no matter what our circumstances. As one Jarvis member put it: “I just feel more grounded when I am part of one of our small groups.”
The following are small group opportunities. Read about and consider each of these. We would love for you to become a part of one of our small groups. For more information or to sign up, you may click on the link below to email us OR call the church at 252-752-3101.
